We need the class. Stat.
We decided to try some little raised garden beds this year. To say that the kids are excited is a complete understatement. We had a lot of family fun building the boxes. Jared and I put them together and as soon as we were done with one we handed it over to the kids to paint. They painted them all by themselves and I love the way they turned out! For Family Night we made little garden stakes. They are so cute with the kids little art work on them. We planted our veggies and herbs tonight. I hope and pray something grows because the kids are so excited! And I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty excited too. It was a great family activity.
We explored downtown St. Augustine today. It is beautiful! I love all of the little cobblestone streets and cute shops and restaurants. The old Spanish architecture is breathtaking. We toured Castillo de San Marcos, an old fort from the 1600’s. Very cool. When it got too hot to enjoy much else we had lunch at Jared’s favorite hole in the wall and hit the beach. The kids flew kites in between running and jumping waves. After a while the kids wanted to swim in the pool. This turned out to be quite the experience. As I was putting Liam’s float on him he says to me in his little loud voice, “Mom, that big man over there has hair ALL OVER his boobs! Isn’t that funny? Hairy boobs. Isn’t that funny, Mom? I have never seen hairy boobs.” I was trying everything to get him to be quiet and the man (who was sitting really close to us) just chuckled. Then, to make things even better, this fine specimen that Jared and I have been gawking at all week asked Jared for some help. The middle age gentleman caught our attention yesterday when he walked past us on the beach sporting nothing but a speedo, some killer water shoes, and a toupee that Donald Trump would die for. He jumped some serious waves while impressively maintaing said toupee and strutted past us again. We couldn’t help but stare. Well today as I was swimming with the children Mr. Speedo asked Jared to take some pictures of him with his cell phone. Jared, of course, said yes. So, awesome toupee dude strikes a sexy pose with the beach in the background and says to Jared while motioning for Jared to back up “You are going to want to get all of this.” (As if his sweet water shoes might not make it in the photo. Because that would be tragic, y’all.) I was doing everything in my power to not die laughing in the pool. I had to do all I could to avoid eye contact with Jared for a good while after that because I knew we would both lose it. I later learned that he told Jared that he needed to update his status for his “fans”. I kinda wish I knew more.

Day three of spring break consisted of a day at the beach, a dip in the pool, long walks, digging in the sand, and a little hot tubbin’. We couldn’t ask for a better day. Plus, they have food trucks on the beach here, so yeah. In the words of Lydia Grace- best day ever!
They were running and she biffed it, but managed to save her apple!
We brought the kids to Sea World for the first few days of spring break. We had so much fun. When we were almost there we told the kids that we were going to stop by the hotel to change clothes before we headed to Sea World. Liam asked, “We HAVE to change clothes?!?!??” When we told him yes he said, “Why? Because Sea World has a sign that says ‘no wearing dorky clothes’?” Um. . . Something like that. Lydia’s favorite part was the big ride Atlantis (even though half of the time she buried her face in my shirt saying “I am freaked out, Mom, I am totally freaking out”. Liam’s favorite part was was when the mermaid took off her dress in the dolphin show. Great.
