Confession. We bought a selfie stick. Embarrassing? Yes. Overused on our vacation? Yes. Worth it? Yes. Ever since we booked our cruise, Jared has been talking about getting a selfie stick. For a while I thought he was joking. He wasn’t. I still can’t believe we have one. But we were able to get some fun pictures of our whole family on our vacation.
We spent two days in Orlando at Sea World before we set sail on our Cruise to the Bahamas. Sea World was fun, as always. We also spent some time at Gaylord Palms, which was beautiful!
Jared and I were so excited to take the kids on a cruise. They loved it! Liam spent the whole week asking “Are we still on a boat?!?!” And he would constantly say things like “I didn’t know there were restaurants on a boat!” “I can’t believe there are pools on this boat!” “I didn’t know there were hotels on this boat!” He was so mesmerized by everything! Both kids were super good and just loved the experience.
Our first stop was Coco Cay, Bahamas. It was absolutely beautiful. We loved swimming, walking the island, laying in hammocks, watching the wild chickens and iguanas, and just being at the beach! Jared and the kids snorkeled a bit. The kids made bracelets and their own lake at the kids club, which was Liam’s highlight of the day. We saw a stingray, jellyfish, and huge conch shell crabs. I could have stayed there on that island forever.
The next day we ported at Nassau, Bahamas. She did a little shopping and sight-seeing. We got back on the ship for a late lunch. We had planned to walk to the beach, but it started raining so we just chilled on the ship until dinner.
We spent the last day at sea. The kids swam, played in the splash pad, sat in the hot tubs, and jumped on the bungee trampolines. We ate and ate and ate. We joined some pretty fun dance parties too. Ask Jared to do the Wobble. I think that was his favorite! It was such a wonderful vacation. We cannot wait to do it again!
We are so grateful to both have jobs that we love and the means to be able to experience things like this together as a family.
