Throwback to the 1700’s

Williamsburg was the capital of the Virginia Colony in the 1700’s and has significance in the American Revolution.  It’s close to both Jamestown and Yorktown, and once was home to Thomas Jefferson when he served as governor of Virginia.  It’s a living museum to walk through the historic district giving you a glimpse of what life might have been like back then.

Tickets to tour the historic district and enter most of the buildings are quite expensive (around the $30 range per person).  We just parked at the visitor center and bought the $2 bus tickets to the historic district and walked through the city.  It was beautiful.
