Historic, water-filled quarry
About an hour North of Atlanta is a beautiful hike we’ve done several times with the kids to a historic rock quarry now filled with water. The hike winds through some beautiful hills with streams with some small bridges. There are some pretty ferns through the hike as well.
Huge boulders protrude into the water at the quarry with a couple fun cliffs you can climb above to look down into the water. I think we saw signs saying no fishing is allowed, but if it were you’d catch a ton. You can see all kinds of fish swimming around the edges of the water.
DISTANCE: 4.4 Miles around the loop. (We did the South side of the West loop and then the South side of the East loop to the Quarry)
